Rangers colts missed a great opportunity to take all three points but Zak Lovelace’s injury time penalty was saved by Kelby Mason. In truth a share of the spoils was probably fair, with the home side having the better of the early stages with Rangers only dominating after Oban Anderson’s red card.
Ten man Rangers Colts suffered a torrid second half as they went down to Ajax at Firhill this afternoon. Bailey Rice’s twenty fifth minute red card probably impacted on the margin of defeat but was unlikely to have had any real influence on the result. It has been interesting to watch the young Rangers side in this season’s Champions Youth League, but losing twenty goals in the six games probably indicates where the deficiencies were.
Rangers had the first chance of the game in the third minute when a ball over the Napoli defence sent Robbie Ure clear but a brilliant challenge from Daniels Nosegebe-Susko denied the Rangers striker. A couple of minutes later the home side attacked, Lorenzo Russo passed to Dylan de Pasquale on the left and from his cross Antonio Pesce shot wide of the far post.
