Another high scoring game following last week’s Youth Cup Final. Across the sixty-nine Lowland League, Under 18 League and Champions Youth League games Rangers have lost 123 goals and Celtic 109. Evidence would suggest that defending isn’t a strength at the older end of both academies.
Rangers Colts had to survive another early red card to secure a hard fought win over East Stirling at The Falkirk Stadium this afternoon.
It was a game Rangers really should have won, but a fine goalkeeping display from Ryan Adamson, a series of missed chances and the continuous leaking of goals makes winning difficult at any level. The two goals lost today take the total lost in the Lowland League to fifty in thirty-one games.
A Robbie Ure double, the second coming with virtually the last kick secured a win for Rangers Colts over fourth bottom Gretna 2008 at Dumbarton tonight. Failure to take a couple of a number of chances could have been their undoing but for Ure’s late, late winner.
Leading 2-1 deep into injury time an unnecessary risky forward pass gave possession away which ultimately led to the leveller right on the final whistle. Rangers dominated the first half but only had a single goal lead at the break to show for it, the second half was a bit more even but Rangers really should have seen the game out once they got back in front.
