A late Bailey Rice penalty meant Rangers Colts secured a draw against League of Ireland side Bohemians at The Rangers Training Centre this afternoon. Over the piece a draw was probably a fair reflection of the ninety minutes.

The first effort on goal came from Rangers on six minutes, Darren McInally’s twenty five yarder was comfortably saved by Luke Dennison low to his right. On the quarter hour mark the ball broke to James Graham on the left hand angle of the box with his shot going straight at Luke Dennison.

Bohemians took the lead a couple of minutes later, when the ball was played into the box from the right it broke to Danny Grant towards the back post and he shot past Kieran Wright from around eight yards. With the midpoint of the half approaching Cole McKinnon hooked the ball across goal from the right hand byline with no takers.

A minute later Cole McKinnon’s ball over the Bohemians defence saw James Graham take a good touch to tee up a shot which was weak and straight at Luke Dennison. Rangers best chance of the half came a couple of minutes before the break, Cole McKinnon and Adam Devine exchanged passes on the right side of the box, from the former’s cross James Graham headed goalwards with Luke Dennison tipping over.

Rangers first chance after the break came when James Graham broke into the left side of the box but his shot lacked power and Luke Dennison saved low to his left. Two minutes later the sides were level, Adam Devine sent Cole McKinnon down the right and from his cross Bart Kukulowicz diverted the ball past Luke Dennison for an own goal.

On sixty-five minutes Bailey Rice cut in from the left hand angle before shooting narrowly side of the near post. Midway through the half Paddy Kirk was shown a second yellow and subsequent red card, but as agreed it was a compulsory substitution and he was replaced Declan Osagie.

With seventeen minutes remaining Bohemians regained the lead, Jordan Flores broke forward into the left side of the box and beat Kieron Wright with the aid of a deflection. Rangers levelled with eight minutes remaining from the penalty spot, Connor Allan was brought down as he burst into the right side of the box and Bailey Rice stepped up to convert from the spot.

With four minutes remaining Bailey Rice sent Archie Stevens down the right, he looked up and picked out Cole McKinnon inside the box but he was denied by a fine Luke Dennison save diving to his right. On ninety minutes Adam Devine delivered a free-kick from wide right towards the back post with Leon King knocking wide.

At the other end deep into injury time the ball broke to Hugh Smith inside the right side of the box with Kieran Wright saving at his near post.
