Trivia

Jock Wallace was sacked on the 8th April 1986. Graeme Souness was named as new manager and took charge of his first game on the 3rd of May. Alex Totten and Walter Smith had been caretaker managers.

Souness' first Old Firm game was the Glasgow Cup Final against Celtic on the 9th May. Rangers ran out 3-2 winners after extra time with an Ally McCoist hat-trick.
