Trivia

John Greig took over as manager after the departure of Jock Wallace.

Work started on making Ibrox an all-seater stadium. Indeed, the final 'home' Old Firm game of the season was actually played at Hampden.

During a fine European Cup run this season, Rangers eliminated Juventus after defeating the Italians 2–1 on aggregate - the first time Rangers had ever recovered from a first-leg defeat to win a two-legged European tie.
