Trivia

World War II started on 3rd September 1939 after the Germans invaded Poland two days earlier.

New Year's Day Old Firm game was a ticket-only match as officials tried to stop big crowds attending.

As the War wore on there was limits on attendances - because of nearby Govan Shipyards.

The final match of the season was a play-off between the Regional League winners. This was rather ironic bearing in mind Rangers and Falkirk were leading in Division 1 before that was suspended!
